What exactly is “Web2.0″?

I asked this question to myself and found no immediate answers bumping me on the head is I began my Web2.0 online course with Sunraysia Mallee Schools Network (SMSN) and Darrel Branson (the ICT Guy).

So I asked Darrell about it and he gave me this very adequate answer (emphasis added) -

Hi Glen,

Wikipedia is a good source (and good for further reading). See the definition section.

It’s probably not that important to explain exactly what it is. However, I would sum it up in the 4 words – The read/write web.

We not only read from it, but we can easily write to it (think blogs, wikis, podcasts, flickr, youtube, etc)

After that it just gets technical

Cheers
Darrel

If you wish further information than that, then the Wikipedia link has lots more detail …
